Featured Image: March 2005 village kids Trying to think of what to say about these images... it is enough to know a little background and just look. Somewhere in jungle, out of Dandele, over the Western Ghat mountains from the Goan coast, live these people. 20 or 30 people. More than half are children. The most complicated thing in the village is a hand water pump. It is a daily 20 km round trip, on foot, to the nearest place to sell milk from the village cows. For which they were paid 20 rupees, or around 30 pence. The village is mostly washed away in monsoons every year, and rebuilt. I have never met nicer children. Taken on a Nikon camera, flown home, processed in London, scanned at home on a Nikon scanner, manipulated on a PowerBook while listening to a hi-fi before nipping out to M&S for some food.
